Digital Output Operation
You can configure an input trigger for taking images within the Ax8 or A310.
This alarm works differently than the other alarms in the camera. Instead of being triggered when a temperature condition is met, the digital input alarm is triggered when a digital input signal is sent to the camera. Below is the configuration option for the Ax8.
Set “Active alarm” to “Yes” and the capture type with the drop-down arrow to enable the input-based trigger. “Trig On” can only be set to a 1 or 0. 1 refers to the camera triggering on a high signal and 0 refers to the camera triggering on a low signal.
See the diagram below for wiring. Notice the negative side of the digital input must be grounded. The positive side of the digital input comes from the trigger source. The pinout below is for the Ax8.
Start by selecting the alarm on the A310 or Ax8 to digital out. Make sure the “Active Alarm” says “Yes”
Example Below for Ax8
The Pulse Time is the duration the output will remain high after an alarm condition is caused. The pins on the FLIR Ax8 and A310 for digital out act as normally open (NO) contacts. Meaning when the alarm is triggered the contact closes allowing voltage to pass through the pins.
